Philadelphia-area driving school honored for personalized instruction, community impact, and a modern approach to driver’s education
PHILADELPHIA, PA, August 4, 2026: Driven2Drive, a premier driving school & license testing center, is honored to be named the winner in the “Best Driving Coaches” category in Philadelphia Magazine’s 2026 Best of Philly awards. The award recognizes D2D’s approach to driver’s education, from personalized instruction to tailored training experiences designed to meet the needs of its diverse range of students.
Handpicked for a Philly-Wide Honor
Since 1974, Philadelphia Magazine has released an annual Best of Philly issue, highlighting people, places, and businesses worth recognizing. Every year, the magazine’s editors and writers test and visit everything in contention before carefully handpicking the winners. This year, that meant narrowing an initial pool of hundreds of contenders down to a selection of honorees in categories spanning food, health, style, and more.
This year, the magazine awarded Driven2Drive as the winner in the “Driving Coaches” category: “Navigating Philly streets is treacherous on even the best of days. Driven2Drive — with locations in Philly and the ‘burbs — offers everything from the basic road test (so you can avoid the lines at PennDOT) to customized instruction. Bonus: You can do it all from behind the wheel of a cute Mini Cooper.”
What This Means for Driven2Drive
For founder and co-owner Ronit Tehrani, the award is a reflection of the mission she set out to build the company on.
“When we started Driven2Drive, we set out to change what people expect from driver’s education,” Ronit said. “We wanted to create an experience where students feel supported, empowered, and genuinely excited to reach their goals. Being named Best of Philly is an incredible reminder that leading with heart, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence truly makes a difference. I’m deeply grateful to our team, our students, and the Philadelphia community for making this possible.”
Co-founder and co-owner, Edward Kauffman, echoed that sentiment, pointing to the years of work behind the recognition.
“Excellence isn’t something that happens overnight — it’s built lesson by lesson, student by student, year after year,” Edward said. “Winning Best of Philly is a testament to our team’s relentless commitment to safety, professionalism, and delivering an experience that exceeds expectations. We’re proud of what we’ve built, and even more excited about what’s ahead.”
Rooted in the Community
In addition to leading the charge on driver’s ed in Philly, Driven2Drive has built a reputation for being an active member of the community. D2D partners with local schools and organizations to make lessons accessible to underprivileged students. The driving school connects with students with financial or personal barriers, as well as students working toward a license to access new career opportunities.
That commitment to accessibility extends elsewhere, too. D2D offers driving lessons and materials in a student’s preferred language, a resource that’s especially valuable for new Philadelphia immigrants. In addition, D2D is known for its dedicated staff and professional instructors, who create a welcoming learning environment for any student, regardless of background or experience level.
The driving school also invests in emerging technology to assist students in controlled environments, including dash cams and modern vehicles. Throughout the year, the D2D team also participates in local events and holiday parades across the Philadelphia area.
Driven2Drive was also the first privately owned and operated driving school in Pennsylvania to become a PennDOT Certified Driver’s License Testing Center, a distinction the company continues to build on.
In Good Company
There are over 200 winners honored in the 2026 Best of Philly issue. Many other winners include businesses, who like Driven2Drive, have contributed to their communities in meaningful ways. D2D is honored to be counted alongside notable Philadelphia businesses, such as Benito’s Ace Hardware (Best Place to Buy a Hammer), Swimhappy (Best Swim Instructor), the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia at Bartram’s Garden (Best Pedal Pushers), and the Passport Guys (Best Travel Savior).
